Destination Weddings Brings Couples, Families and Friends Together

Posted by Kolleen on Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Even with the downturned economy, people are still celebrating marriages in style and a destination wedding is something a bride and groom would want their friends and family to celebrate with them. If the invited guests know far enough in advance of a wedding being held in another part of the country, they will have time to save and/or budget their finances for the trip.

Destination weddings typically take place in some far off sandy beach, however there is a place right here in the Untied States that is easy to get to from all the other states and is a bit ‘off the beaten path’ in terms of being a different type of place to hold a wedding. Weddings in Michigan offer a different take on weddings – if that is what a couple wants. There are many beautiful gardens at the castle in Michigan where hundreds of couples have exchanged their vows.

At the unique castle, there are many rooms which represent Kings and Queens and many represent a period of renaissance with décor that would fit nicely with any style wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses. A woman, and her fiancé if he wanted to be involved, could plan her wedding apparel around a certain theme, color or an era in which castles played a major part of the landscape.

Destination weddings could bring family and friends together who have not seen each other in a long time at one centralized location. The small historic town of Charlevoix, Michigan has many resorts and places to pamper the bride, mother of the bride or mother of the groom, bridesmaids and friends of the couple.

While guests are waiting for the reception to begin, and the newly married couple are having beautiful photographs taken, they could busy themselves with a giant game of chess or croquet on one of the beautiful lawns. Castle weddings offer so much more than a unique background.  There are paths that wind themselves through the various flower gardens and standing by the large lake is another opportunity for a photo or reflection on what lies ahead.
