Greenline Bikes Transformed Bicycle Riding into an Adventure
Numerous online beach cruiser bicycle stores, along with their real-world counterparts, are once again selling Greenline bikes which are distributed from the City of Industry, California, with many pieces being made by hand, especially the bright colors which are painted by hand.
Greenline bikes like other manufacturers of beach cruiser bikes, come with many accessories, some that make them look retro or look as if they rolled right out of the 30s and 40s when they were very popular with accessories such as large wicker baskets, bike cup holders and large flat seats to hold various types of bottoms in comfort.
Unfortunately, other bicycle manufacturers were only targeting young boys with the muscle bicycles which featured the banana seats and ape-hanger handlebars that are still seen on many motorcycles and that were the inspiration for the bicycle handlebars, plus several years later the new BMX bike was born for off-road cycling and tricks, mostly for younger and teenage boys.
For awhile, beach bikes for sale were made to resemble the latest cartoon. Pure or other forms of transportation, again mostly for teenage and younger boys; bicycles that resembled Gene Autry and Hopalong Cassidy complete with fringed saddlebags and capgun pollsters were very popular, in addition to Donald Duck bikes with a quacking horn. One version of a bicycle that did appeal to the girls was one that contained a large integrated AM radio.
Today, beach cruisers are popular with Baby Boomers who enjoy a comfortable bicycle and like the ‘retro-style’ look. They know that exercise is good for them, however they want to be comfortable and look good doing it. These aging Americans would rather spend their money on a comfortable bicycle than a mountain bike or racing style bike they may never use. In addition, they come in many different colors that attract women as well as men, girls as well as boys.
Riding a bike could be an adventure or simply transportation; the choice is yours and it all depends on what style and type of bicycle you’re riding.
