Many Jobs Available For Game Manufacturing Business, Game Tester, Celebrity Liaison
To become game tester a person needs to enjoy playing video games of all types and styles and be able to honestly evaluate the games they are given to play before they are paid to play video games.
There are a number of different jobs within a video game manufacturing company. There is the factory itself which makes the components for the games such as the casings, the keypad and the intricate computer parts that make the game run. Many of the factory positions use high-tech machinery and are very noisy places; therefore to avoid having to purchase hearing aids later in life one should always use earplugs when working in a factory, any factory.
Other jobs with a video game manufacturing company include game designers which sometimes require a degree or type of formal education especially when everything has been computerized. Many of the old hand-drawn computer games much like the hand-drawn cartoons do not hold a candle to what a computer-generated program can come up with in today’s virtual video game world.
In addition to the game designers, there are computer engineers, technical engineers and sound engineers needed that all work together to create a video game that people will enjoy time and time again. Each engineer does their part of the total game. The next engineer adds their parts and so on until the final project is completed having all its parts on one computer disk to be downloaded into the final motherboard which will be installed by the factory workers.
Right before the game is ready to be downloaded into the motherboards and installed by the factory workers, the games usually head out to a game tester or several game testers to make sure that the games are playing properly with no glitches and can be played at each level successfully up to and including the highest possible level of the game.
There are also sales positions in the video game industry in which the sales person takes the video game or computer game to different stores to tries to sell the item at the highest possible price while still allowing the customer to make a profit.
There may need to be several marketing personnel in order to help with the publicity surrounding the release date of the major games. Many of the latest games have celebrity attachments or endorsements and the company needs a liaison to go between the celebrity and the video game or computer game company to make sure everything is handled correctly. Many times this person will be dealing with the publicists of the celebrity or the celebrity’s assistant and not the celebrity themselves.
