Phoenix Pool Builders Hire Workers as People Stay Home for Vacation
Since the economy has taken a downward turn, many people on foregoing trips to Disneyland in exchange for ‘staycations’ in which they stay home and have a vacation in their own backyard.
Thousands of people are turning their backyard into a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle of busy work days and the stress of their jobs, the uncertainty of the economy and the housing market and all things ‘nerve-racking’ about life today. These quiet oasis’ sometimes contain swimming pools, saunas, or hot tubs and Jacuzzis. Many Phoenix pool builders are hiring employees to help install pools of all shapes and sizes in backyards across the state and across the country.
In order to be a pool builder, one must be able to lift and carry upwards of 90 pounds without having to struggle against the weight or become winded after a few moments. Other positions with a pool contractor or pool builder include cement work, bricklaying which sometimes includes rock laying and cementing, building retaining walls and other landscaping jobs in addition to electrical work for the pool pump and lighting and some carpentry work. Some experience in any of these trades such as an electrician, a carpenter or brick layer would be ideal as a pool builder. A high school education would be all that is needed in the education department. Also needed would be a crane operator to lift and maneuver the pool into place and sometimes the pieces of the pool, which would then be built inside the hole that is dug by the backhoe. Therefore, a license to operate heavy machinery would also come in handy when applying to become a pool builder.
Various Phoenix pool contractors have websites that allow customers to custom build their own pool through a computer program located on the website. These pool contractors would need to hire webmasters in order to help upkeep the website, to make sure they continue to run smoothly and control the traffic on the website.
A pool contractor also needs people to work in the office such as secretaries and clerical office personnel to help keep the books straight and schedule the construction crews. Additionally needed would be salespeople to answer the many sales calls from people who want a swimming pool in their backyard, whereby they sign up through a website or call an office for a free estimate.
Salespeople must know everything there is to know about swimming pools; how to estimate the cost of the pool, all heavy machinery or equipment required in addition to the labor needed to install the pool. These are all factors that go into an estimate because most contracts are written off of an estimate; they must be as accurate as possible.
As more and more people stay home for vacations, the swimming pool business requires additional laborers, clerical workers and salespeople.
