Many women refused to do-it-yourself when it comes to coloring or styling their hair. Even in this downward economy when people are cutting down on their discretionary spending, women find it necessary to give up other things rather than their stylists.

They could have recently lost their job and are looking for a new job and therefore would benefit from a new haircut and/or color to give them that boost of self-esteem they may have lost when they lost their job. Millions of women believe that their appearance, especially their hair, is a reflection of who they are. This has been reinforced through the media, television and movies as far back as their invention.

Beauty salons will always see a brisk business during wedding seasons or prom season when women and girls like to treat themselves to fancy hairdos for that special occasion that requires more than just a curling iron and a blow dryer. They want a professional stylist on their special day to make their hair look like those in the books and magazines.
